When you visit http://www.tinyurl.com, you will see the option to drag a link to your bookmark area on your browser. Now, anytime you are on a page where you want to create a short URL to include in your tweets, simply click the link on your browser bookmark area and the URL will be created! What a time saver!

Hey Guys,

You have probably seen this but if not, check out http://tr.im/ as another alternative to tinyurl. The main feature being that you can track the number of click thru's on your shortened link as well as get metrics on who/where your visitors are. Very helpful if you use Twitter for business.

You can also shorten your URL AND tweet without logging into Twitter which is another time saver.

I use bit.ly. The only reason I would ever use tinyURL is when I'm dealing with people who aren't entirely aware of url shortening sites. Some of them can come across spam like to newbies.

However, I much prefer bit.ly. It allows me to track my link with a live update of stats. It also tracks where the link is being mentioned. If you tweet it and someone retweets it you will let you know. It gives you stats regarding locations also!
